Yes, it’s the festive season, and we are all in a cheerful mood, but one cannot rule out the possibility of a trip to the doctor, especially with the flu that has been spreading.
“Should you need to see the doctor, what would be the worst thing your doctor can say to you right now?” Asked Tbose on The Best T in the city this morning.
A listener shares, “The worst thing that the doctor can tell me is that ‘bafo’ doesn’t work, and I can no longer do the dance.”
Tbose says the worst thing the doctor can tell Midday Joy’s Andy is that she can no longer use the aircon.
“It would be a doctor saying I’ve looked at your test results, and I’m off. I’ll meet you in January. And now I don’t know what to eat,” responded Andy.
Another listener says that she’s made peace with the fact that she’ll have to do without the deed in the coming weeks.
‘I’ve made peace with the sickness that I have. I’ve been told to avoid Tlof Tlof for the next couple of weeks,” she said.
For Tebza, it would be the doctor telling him to stop drinking. “Imagine the doctor telling you that you must stop drinking because you are overweight and that you must stay at home. I don’t want to hear anything like that during in December,” he said.
Papi shares, “There’s nothing more painful than hearing the doctor telling you that they’ve tried all they could and they’ve lost the person.”

- No Red Meat And No Alcohol: Can you imagine not drinking, smoking, and going to di chesa nyama at all? Over and above the medication, you need to change your diet with immediate effect.
- Medication won’t do it; you need an op: The last thing anyone wants to hear the doctor say in December is that they have to undergo an operation that will keep them immobile for six weeks. I mean, can you imagine being on crutches, and all you can do is to eat, sleep, and watch tv the whole of December and even January?
- You Must isolate for 10 Days: you have flu symptoms, a tummy ache, like a responsible citizen you consult, then your doctor says you must err on the side of caution, isolate for ten days…ka festive. That’s the whole December!!!
