Are you in a relationship and question whether your partner is the right person for you?
Our resident medium, Tebogo Mfete, joined Tbose on The Best T in the city to help you decide if you should leave or stay in the relationship.
The phone lines kept ringing and voice notes, as well as posts on social media from listeners asking Tebogo to help them decide if their relationship is worth fighting for?
Tebogo says that consulting helps save you from the heartache of a breakup.
“Let’s rather save you from that heartache; you know the better you know about the future and why that person is not compatible with you. That’s why you need to cut it as soon as possible if it’s something to cut,” he advises.
“If the ancestors do approve, and then what are the reasons? I believe that there are reasons to spend the rest of your life with that person. It’s a blessing from God and the ancestors.
“If they disapprove of that relationship, then there are reasons. People commit for different reasons, but we find that a lot of people are not compatible,” he continued.
On being wrong in consultations
“In fact, in the consultations that I have worked on, I’ve been 98% right. The 2% will be from when I have seen the couple change those things I spoke about to them to help save their relationship. They would’ve worked on those weaknesses,” Tebogo added.
Furthermore, he said that relationships are about compromise.
“Relationships are all about compromise, and the ones that I’ve found struggle a lot, it’s about compromise – people don’t want to compromise. They want to be in a relationship with their old behaviors. But, knowing that if you are going to be with someone and you call that individual a lifetime partner, there’s a particular compromise that you need to make and certain habits that you need to leave out.
If you are not willing to leave those kinds of things, chances are your relationship might not be able to work,” he advised.
