We are now one week into December, and everyone is feeling festive.
However, in recent years we have learned the importance of having rules for December because people tend to take advantage.
Kaya 959 listeners share their ground rules for this December on The Best T in the city:
Gugu does not want uninvited guests this December. “For me, it is ‘ngi busy,’ don’t just come to my house unannounced,” she said.
DJ Keyz keys will be treating his entire family to lunch this December. “Christmas lunch is on me. That’s what I told my family. I called my aunts and uncles – I’m getting a catering company; it’s all on me. Over the years, I’ve seen them slave in the kitchen, so this time it’s on me,” he said.
Skhumbuzo wants people to start carrying their own money. “Those people who are always having cards on them, asking us to buy them beer, and they will transfer the money, but you constantly have to remind them. This thing must end. If you are going out, then go and withdraw money.”
“Before you borrow money, just know that I’m going to ask for bank statements,” added Tbose.
Another caller wants people in her hometown to stop asking her to buy alcohol. “My ground rules for this year are for people who ask me to buy them alcohol, is for them to stop it. I didn’t teach them to drink alcohol, so I can’t fund it,” she voiced her frustration.
3TSpoons on: The Most Important #GroundRulesThisFestive?
- You Must Contribute – Whether it’s for food, drinks, petrol, or groove, you must contribute. This thing of wanting to show up without making any contribution must stop. If you don’t have money, then contribute in other ways; that way, your efforts will be felt like washing the dishes or doing the laundry.
- It’s called a holiday for a reason – holiday means do less and rest more. No one should be slaving for another.
- MMM ka Festive – there’s nothing as annoying as a person who wants to get married on Christmas Day, and they expect you to leave your family lunch for their wedding. Please choose another date.
