South African food content creator and best-selling cookbook author Onezwa Mbola has announced the beautiful news that she is expecting her second child.
Mbola shared the news with her followers on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, in a playful Spring-themed announcement highlighting everything she is “growing” this season.
Known for her famous line, “I make meals using items that I have grown, raised, or foraged,” Mbola is now adding another baby to the list.
The food creator shared a beautiful video showing off her growing baby bump while wearing a purple dress, alongside a pair of tiny pink shoes.
A ring on her finger also caught the attention of social media users, with some followers speculating about her marital status and whether she could be expecting a baby girl.
One follower joked: “She’s really growing a lot of things this season,” referring to the vegetables and other produce Mbola has been growing alongside her pregnancy.
Mbola has captured the hearts of social media users through content many describe as raw, authentic and relatable.
She is known for creating meals using ingredients she has grown, raised and foraged herself, while encouraging her followers to embrace sustainable living and food gardening.
Her passion for growing her own food has also inspired many of her followers to start food gardens in their own backyards.
Her cookbook, released earlier this year, has also performed well, cementing her position as one of South Africa’s best-selling cookbook authors.
Now, as Spring begins, Mbola is celebrating a very different kind of growth – her growing family.
