This past weekend’s ANC National Executive Council (NEC), the highest decision-making body of the ruling party’s meeting had multiple leaks, with prominent ANC Leaders sharing their thoughts on the state of the organization’s factions.
In another leak, during the ANC’s NEC virtual meeting, ANC treasurer-general, Paul Mashatile, is heard saying the party was now working on a process to cut its staff by 50%.

Step Aside Resolution
In a longer version of the clip he also speaks on the contentious ‘stepping aside’ resolution, which over the last week saw the Secretary General of the party Ace Magashule being suspended, who subsequently suspended President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Mashatile also broke down what needs to happen to members of the organization who had voluntarily stepped aside, as per the NEC resolution:

ANC to take legal action
Party spokesperson Pule Mabe says a legal team is looking into the matter of this past weekend’s leaks, adding that the party condemns it, and will deal with the leaking of information and internal discussions.
