South African DJ and social media personality DJ Karri, real name Karabo Mokgara, has hinted at the launch of a reality show based on his life and journey in the entertainment industry.
Taking to social media, DJ Karri shared a series of images capturing moments from his 15+ year career in music. In his caption, he reflected on the dedication it has taken to build his brand:
“Everything takes time, consistency, patience, and hard work. 15+ years in the game, and soon you’ll get insights on our upcoming reality show on DStv.”
The popular DJ has carved a niche for himself not only through music but also through his uplifting social media presence.
Known for reaching out and helping people in need, many fans have affectionately compared him to the legendary Zola 7.
One of DJ Karri’s more touching recent moments involved former footballer Lerato Chabangu, who had spoken publicly about falling on hard times. In 2025, Karri met up with the retired athlete and spent time with him in an effort to offer support.
Chabangu, once a household name in South African football, shared that his downfall came after personal and financial struggles, including giving money to a former partner who he later discovered had misused it.
“I lost everything I worked so hard for. It feels as though I never played soccer. I have nothing to show for it. I lost faith in life, even when people offered to assist me,” he admitted.
The former player added that he now avoids public spaces like shopping malls, fearing ridicule from people who recognise him.
To help him rebuild his confidence, DJ Karri took Chabangu out for lunch at a local mall.
