South African actor Clement Maosa has dismissed rumours circulating on social media that he is leaving the popular SABC1 drama Skeem Saam after 14 years.
Taking to Facebook, Maosa wrote:
“Just got back from shooting only to find FAKE NEWS about my departure from Skeem Saam. Lena le ka bolaya motho. Anyway, DON’T JUST BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ HERE!!!”
The actor reassured fans that he is not going anywhere.
Maosa rose to fame in 2011 when he landed the role of Kwaito Seakamela, a character whose journey has become central to the show’s storyline.
Viewers have watched Kwaito evolve from a high school student to a university graduate, navigate complex family dynamics and criminal entanglements, and eventually settle into married life.
Maosa has earned widespread praise for his performance, receiving several award nominations over the years, including Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) and the National Film & TV Awards.
The 37-year-old’s role continues to be a cornerstone of Skeem Saam.
