Congratulations to Emmy Maosa, the younger sister of Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa, on her graduation.
Clement took to social media to congratulate his sister on this milestone, noting that their parents would be proud of her achievement.
“No one will understand our journey, but through it all, we are proving to be resilient,” Clement wrote. “Here we are, challenging life and seemingly winning at it. Super proud of you… @emmy_maosa.”
Over two years ago, Clement Maosa appeared on Podcast and Chill where he opened up about his humble upbringing in Limpopo and his experiences with witchcraft during his childhood.
Clement explained that as his parents were preparing for their wedding, his mother began to fall ill and “started seeing things at night.” At the time, Clement was too young to fully understand the situation. He shared that his mother came from a poor background, and when she married into his father’s family, there was resentment because his father was the breadwinner.
After his parents got married, his father built a house near his mother’s. Clement explained that this caused tension, especially when his family had meals and the other side didn’t. Conflict soon followed.
Following the wedding, his mother’s health continued to deteriorate, and no one could explain why. Clement recalled an eerie moment from his childhood when he and his younger brother heard strange noises on the roof and later encountered a bizarre creature, half-human, half-animal. Shortly after, his mother passed away, and more unsettling events occurred, including an encounter with a large snake.
Reflecting on his childhood, Clement said he gradually became aware of the strange things happening around them. He also shared the pain of realising that the very people expected to care for them were the ones who harboured ill will after his mother’s passing.
