Mona Monyane has paid tribute to her late daughter, Amani-Amaza Wamazulu Skenjana, four years after she passed away.
The actress thanked her daughter for helping her heal.
“At first I did not understand…4 years later… I AM well. Thank you for giving me the strength you did. The awakening you did. The self-love you did. Thank you for healing me in the midst of all that pain. Thank you for being a part of me, eternally,” Mona added.
The former ‘Muvhango‘ star says she will love Amani-Amaza forever.
“I will continue to be the best version of me for the whole world to see because of you. I love you forever my sweet.”

Journey of healing
Mona’s daughter was born on 16 November 2017. The newborn died a few days later.
“…within seven days my baby passes in my arms. I am sitting there going, ‘Okay, what is going on?’ So we are talking about spirituality and I am thinking, I am like, ‘God, where are you? I don’t know’. It was too sudden,” she told CWNH Hosted By Wendy in 2018.
One day before wishing her daughter a “happy ascension day”, Monda reflected on her journey of healing.
“When pain is your reality, the petty crap really becomes pettier. As humans, we prioritize what divides us over what unites us daily… Ignoring the one true FACT that we ALL feel,” she wrote.
Mona added many people relish in not choosing to heal.
“Not holding themselves accountable. Being the change they want to see. Not imposing their tragedy. Leading by example as a strategy… My voice will never be silenced. I already exist. It. Is. Done. Now sit back and watch me, BE.”
