An angry Kagiso community have blocked roads and set shacks on fire to get rid of illegal Zama Zamas in the area.
This after the rape of 8 women by a gang of men, which shocked the country last week. Over a hundred men have since been arrested following the gang rapes of the women who were reportedly shooting a video at the time.
The community have rallied together to take to the streets in a bid to clean up the township in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.
Residents and illegal Zama Zamas clashed after the community worked together to dismantle the shafts that the men use to enter the mines.
On Thursday, 04 August, reports of one person being killed in the Kagiso shutdown have just emerged.
The man was reportedly beaten to death by a mob of community members, who say they are tired of living in fear.
As reported by eNCA, there is no police visibility on the ground, but the community say they will rid Kagiso of the illegal activities with or without police presence.

Hundreds of shacks between Roodepoort and Randfontein have been set on fire, with residents saying they will rid their community of the illegal immigrants.
Most of the men who were flushed out by the community are said to be of Mozambican descent and did not have papers to be in the country.
