The body of a KZN woman was found after she had been brutally raped and bludgeoned to death.
According to Reaction Unit SA (RUSA), the woman’s body was found under a bridge in Tongaat, near Gandhi’s Hill, on Wednesday, 03 August.
Her half-naked body was found by an off-duty RUSA member while crossing the bridge.
This comes a few days into Women’s Month in the country, and after the heinous axe murders of two KZN schoolgirls over the weekend.
While it is not confirmed, the woman appears to have been raped before she was bludgeoned to death with a rock.
She was found naked from the waist down, with visible injuries to her head and face.
A rock covered in blood was found near the woman’s lifeless body, with her clothes close-by.
RUSA says investigators found her purse had been emptied too.
