Lady Du has urged her fans to love themselves after witnessing someone being body-shamed online.
“I watched a video of a girl body shaming someone I know. It hurt me like they were saying it to me. Ncela Ning mamele kahle! You are beautiful the way you are, God made you in his image, if you start feeling like you’re not beautiful because of someone else that means you don’t think you’re beautiful yourself,” she wrote on Instagram.
Lady Du says people need to be kinder towards each other despite their own struggles.
“I’ve been seeing so many people go through so much because of cyberbullying. One thing about me, I make sure I check up on all my friends and colleagues in the piano industry. Guys your negative comments affect people. We know the country is going through a lot nje, but we must learn to be sensitive towards other people.”
The amapiano DJ says she is unbothered by cyberbullies because she loves herself.
“I love myself sooo much I don’t get hurt by a comment from someone that doesn’t even know me or even put food on my table. Learn to fill yourself with so much love that anything negative boosts your confidence even more because it means uyabanyisa babes! Remember this, a dog does not bark if the car isn’t moving. Love yourself just the way you are.”

Lady Du ready to take on 2022
Lady Du also shared some words of wisdom about failure.
“It’s the end of 2021, reflect, remember that you have not failed, you get to start again next year. Spend the last days of December writing down all the things you want next year,” she wrote in a separate Instagram post.
The year has had many highs and lows, but Lady Du kept her head held high regardless of what was happening in her personal life.
She shared “something personal” about her medical history with her fans in November. Lady revealed that she has battled a condition since childhood that prevents her from being active.
“I cannot do anything active for more than a minute, but there’s something about why I feel like God gave me my musical talent. I can dance on stage for 25 mins, pour my heart out, but I won’t pass out. But as soon as I run for a minute I go straight to hospital,” she wrote.
Despite the challenge, Lady Du gives it her all during her performances.
“Soooo sometimes I’ll look very tired and drained, still give it my all, but as soon as I get home, I get weak. I’d love to go to gym, but I can’t.”
Lady Du has big plans for the new year, and her fans can’t wait to see what she does next.
