Some of South Africa’s biggest musicians will be making an appearance at the 2021 Africa Day Concert.
Focalistic, Elaine, and Blaq Diamond have been announced as some of the performers for the May 25 show.
Elaine continues to fly the South African flag overseas. Her singles ‘You’re the One’ and ‘Risky’ have climbed the charts both locally and abroad.
The multiplatinum artist just released her new single, ‘Right Now’.
Focalistic making waves overseas
Focalistic is also making a name for himself on the international music scene.
Alicia Keys is one of his biggest fans. The Grammy Award winner featured his hit single, ‘Ke Star’, in one of the videos she shared on YouTube.
Focalistic made headlines in March when he appeared on a Times Square billboard in New York.
“Came a long way from 2016. This is a hood drea !! New York Times Square Billboard!!! 2021, we go hard! First of many. BLESS UP,” he wrote on Instagram.
Blaq Diamond taking over Africa
Blaq Diamond’s popularity in Africa continues to grow. The afro-pop duo will be performing in Namibia this week.
Their fans in Zimbabwe and the UK are hoping they will be able to visit their cities soon.
Ndumiso ‘Ndu’ Mdletshe and Sphelele ‘Danya’ Dunywa are showing no signs of slowing down.
Their smash hit, ‘Ibhanoyi’ earned them their first Sama last year for ‘Song of the Year’.
“Our music has received so much love with our songs taking the number one spot often. It shows that people appreciate us and celebrate with us. It is surprising for us that the music has also crossed over to other cultures and people who don’t speak or understand Zulu,” Danya told The Star in an interview.
