Climbing up the charts
Focalistic’s ‘Ke Star’ remix with Nigerian superstar Davido is climbing up the charts in America.
It is currently number eight on Billboard’s Top Triller Global Charts.
The original version, featuring Vigro Deep, went gold in South Africa in August last year.
“Ke Star is now certified Gold! Thank you, South Africa! Nou Ke STAR (Now I’m a real star) for real!!” Focalistic wrote on Instagram.
The Pretoria-born star has big plans for his future.
“For me, the goal is to bring the Grammy even back here,” he told Okay Africa.
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz love South African music
It’s not the first time Alicia Keys or someone from her family has shown South African music some love.
The singer and her husband Swizz Beatz are both big Black Coffee fans. The South African DJ features on Alicia’s ‘In Common’ remix.
Swizz Beatz made headlines in 2018 when he was seen dancing to Babes Wodumo‘s hit single, ‘Wololo’.
Swizz Beatz shows off his South African dance moves
Last year, Swizz Beatz took to Instagram to show off the local dance moves Cassper Nyovest taught him. Distruction Boyz’s ‘Shut Up & Groove’ can be heard playing in the background.
