The KwaZulu-Natal government has called off all planned official activities in the province.
This follows news of the passing of King Goodwill Zwelithini
The King of the Zulu Nation passed away in hospital in the early hours of this morning.
He had been admitted to hospital in February to receive treatment for unstable blood glucose levels. It has been announced that King Zwelithini’s body will lie in state at the palace from this afternoon until a funeral is held.

King Zwelithini was the longest-serving monarch of the Zulu kingdom with a reign spanning over five decades. Traditional prime minister to the Zulu monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi says the King’s passing comes at a time when there was hope he would recover.
