Lynn Forbes broke down on a recent episode of DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected, talking about how she’s held onto her late son, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’ blood-stained shoes.
The slain rapper’s emotional mother shared that she doesn’t know why she held onto the shoes he was wearing on the night he was gunned down, but doesn’t feel ready to let them go.
“I know I need to go through all his things and find what I want to keep and decide what I want to do with the other things.
I mean I don’t want to get rid of it, so I’ve got, we’re talking about getting my mind in a different space, I mean what do I do with his shoes?
These are the shoes he was wearing. I mean it has his blood on it. It’s so hard to do this thing because I have to go through his stuff and get rid of things that I’m not necessarily ready to get rid of.”
Bursting into tears Lynn shared that she doesn’t think she’s ever going to want to get rid of the Company hitmaker’s belongings.
AKA’s mom opens the box she keeps his shoes in every day and touches them, hoping to get some closure from his brutal murder.

It’s been 10-months since AKA and his friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were gunned down outside a restaurant on Florida Road, Durban and to date no arrests have been made.
The last update from KwaZulu-Natal police on the murder investigation was in September when confirmation was given that the firearm used to murder the pair was found.
