Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx took to his Instagram to update his fans after recovering from a “near death experience.”
In April, the 55-year old was hospitalized after an unspecified medical emergency whilst on set of his new movie Back In Action.
The Oscar award winner thanked his family and fans for respecting his privacy during the ordeal, saying he didn’t want anyone to see him in that state.
“First of all I want to say thank you to everyone for praying and sending me messages. I cannot begin to describe how far that took me and quite literally brought me back.
I went through something I thought I would never ever go through, and I know a lot of you wanted to know how I was doing and what was going on. But I didn’t want any of you to see me like that, you know, I want ya’ll to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke.
I didn’t want ya’ll to see me with tubes coming out of me, trying to figure out if I was going to make it or not.”

Foxx said his sister and daughter saved his life, and their overwhelming urge to protect him is something he’s grateful for.
The Django Unchained actor dispelled untrue reports that he was blind, paralyzed and unable to speak.
“As you can see, I’m not blind, I am not paralyzed but there were a few potholes on my road to recovery. The important thing is that I’m back and I just want to say I love you all and I’m grateful for all the love that I got.”
An emotional Jamie Foxx choked back tears as he told fans that he’s okay and can’t wait to keep doing what he loves, making movies that people around the world can enjoy.
