The EFF says the false rape allegations against MP Mbuyiseni Ndloizi are fabricated to discredit the party. In a statement released today, the party says it is aware of attempts by the government to criminalize its leadership.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said that while a rape case was indeed opened, Ndlozi “is not a suspect in this case”.
The party has welcomed the police’s confirmation that Ndlozi is not a suspect in a rape case. Police have distanced themselves from reports that accuse Ndlozi of raping a woman in the north of Johannesburg.
According to an article by the Daily Sun newspaper, a woman claims Ndlozi raped her at a party held at a house in Sandton.
The party says it will be taking legal action against Daily Sun.
