Responding to a caller who asked what his thought were on DD Mabuza’s long absence and whether through his silence on what is happening in the country, he was in search of inner peace.
Malema said anyone betting on DD Mabuza being future president is wasting their time.
“The guy has arrived, he has got his package, the cars are permanent, the salary is permanent, and has an allocated budget in retirement. So, I think he has arrived, and is not interested. Anyone who put his money on DD as the possible future president you are completely wasting your time.”

Malema also said he doesn’t think DD Mabuza has the necessary courage.
“I think he no longer interested. He is no longer doing politics. He doesn’t have the necessary courage to come out and say, guys, this came as a shock, thank you very much, I will retire to the farm.”

David Mabuza takes “a few days of leave”
In June Deputy president David Mabuza requested “a few days of leave” to travel to Russia for a medical consultation.
In a statement that was shared by the presidency it said: “This consultation is a follow-up to previous medical consultations that the Deputy President received from the Russian Federation. The Deputy President will continue with the responsibilities that have been entrusted to him upon the end of the leave period,” said the statement.

In March, Mabuza explained his low profile during the coronavirus pandemic, telling MPs he had an underlying health condition.
DD Mabuza must be REALLY sick….close to 4 weeks on treatment overseas. The timing could not be worse for the country? He must be utterly frustrated at being incapacitated at this turbulent time in our country.. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
