Former Ukhozi FM DJ Ngizwe Mchunu has been denied bail. Mchunu appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where it was decided that he will remain in custody for another week.
The decision comes after the NPA said Mchunu is a flight risk.
It is alleged that when Mchunu heard that he was wanted by police for instigating violence, he left Johannesburg using a private jet.
The court postponed his hearing to the 28th of July.
Mchunu is one of the suspects believed to have been behind the violence and looting that engulfed KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng last week.
