Bonnie Mbuli is not one to mince her words and this time the actress is speaking her mind about mediocracy in the entertainment industry.
“Over and over, the message to any SA creative who dares to step out of the norm is a big f**k you!
“Mediocrity is your only way to mass influence in SA. Don’t you dare reach for excellence! There are gatekeepers cemented in place to maintain the status quo!” she tweeted.
The star’s followers agreed. One Twitter user told Bonnie that it happens quite a lot in all sectors.
“We need to start having conversations out loud about this,” Bonnie replied.
I wasn’t aware, guess we need to start having conversations out loud about this .

Toya Delazy fights the system
Toya knows a thing or two about stepping out of the norm. During the early stages of her career, she had to fight to be able to express her creativity.
“When I started in the industry there were Zulu songs in my first album but they weren’t getting as much attention as the English songs.
“I realised that every time I released a Zulu song, I wouldn’t be getting the same support from my record label,” she told Drum magazine in an interview.
Toya says she will help her fans deal with people who bring them down in her upcoming album, ‘Afrorave Vol1’, which releases on June 18.
She says the songs are a reflection of the things she went through in her own life.
