No pain, no gain! This seems to be the motto Khanyi Mbau is living by as the actress and reality star shares the new face she bought.
Just months before she turns 39, Khanyi decided to go under the knife for a more permanent solution to her quest to defy the odds of ageing.
Khanyi’s latest cosmetic procedure took 6 and a half hours to sculpt and tighten what she called sagging, heavy skin so she no longer requires Botox and fillers to maintain her youthful looks.
Hardly recognisable, Khanyi called for calm amongst her followers, saying her new face would get worse before it got better, as the areas around her eyes, lips, neck and forehead heal.
The procedure, Blepharoplasty is an invasive procedure to remove excess skin from the upper eyelid.
Khanyi also had a subnasal lip lift to add shape and definition to her lips.
Looking completely swollen post-procedure, Khanyi shared it will take a few weeks for her newly “baked” face to “cook” and she can’t wait to see the final results.
“Now we bake, bought a new face. I know, I know, before we all lose it, it’s still very fresh and super tight. It will take a few weeks for it to cook.
I grew tired of Botox and fillers every three months and am now looking for a permanent solution to a structured tight face.
I had a Blepharoplasty reducing the heavy skin on my eyelids and Subnasal lip lift adding shape to my lips.
Goodbye fillers, Botox and threads!
How does it feel? Tight! I feel wrapped in cling wrap, can’t wait to see the final results.
It’s still going to get worse before it gets better. Now I live in this face as I wait for it to cook.”
Khanyi underwent the facelift on Wednesday, 28 August and shared a video of her a few hours later of her recovering with a 5-star breakfast.
The Wife actress deactivated comments on her post because her vision is still blurry following the procedure and due to swelling.
Khanyi has previously opened up about her skin bleaching procedures, and other cosmetic surgeries, sharing that she is always looking for ways to achieve flawless beauty.
A few years ago, Khanyi bleached her hands after being ridiculed on social media because her hands appeared darker than her face.
