“Happy heavenly birthday Somahashi” – Menzi Ngabane remembers on what would be his 60th birthday.
His family has honors his memory by keeping his social media accounts online. Menzi died on March 13, 2021, after suffering a stroke at home. He was 56. The Menzi Ngubane Foundation commemorated the slain hero on what would have been his 60th birthday.

Ngubane was on Mzansi’s screens for over 30 years and to honor his memory, a new documentary, Ngubs: The Life and Times of Menzi Ngubane, was released.
Menzi Ngubane’s wife, Sikelelwa, has written a moving tribute to the late actor. Sikelelwa commemorated Menzi’s heavenly birthday by sharing images of him on her account with the comment.
“The day that God called your name, it broke my heart in two, but Heaven needed an Angel and the one He picked was you, I just wish He could have waited and let you stay with me😢, but you have left memories in my heart and that’s where they’ll always be. I just wish I could rewind the clock or make it turn real slow si that I could hug you one more time before you go. No matter how much time will pass, I will miss you everyday 💔, keep shining bright in Heaven Nomafu, so you can light my way ❤️
