The Memorial Service for slain Kaizer Chiefs player, Luke Fleurs will take place on Thursday, 11 April.
Fleurs was shot and killed at a petrol station in Honeydew on Wednesday, 03 April at approximately 20h30.
As reported, the 24-year old was driving a red VW Golf 8 GTI and was waiting to be attended to at the filling station on 14th Avenue when he was confronted by two armed men.
The suspects who were driving a white BMW 1 series pointed a firearm at Fleurs, forcing him out of his vehicle before shooting him once on the upper body.
One suspect drove off with Fleurs’ vehicle, whilst the accomplice followed in the BMW.
Fleurs was taken to the nearest medical facility but was certified dead on arrival.
His family shared that the talented football player who was born in Mitchells Plain, had just one dream which was to play for Kaizer Chiefs.
“Family, friends, colleagues, leaders of society, media and the football fraternity, please join us as we celebrate this beautiful life that’s gone too soon.”
Luke Fleurs’ Memorial Service will take place at the FNB Stadium at 12h00.

On Wednesday, 10 April Gauteng police confirmed 6 suspects were arrested in connection with the footballer’s hijacking and murder.
Police traced the suspects to Slovoville, Soweto in the early hours of Wednesday, after recovering his vehicle which had already been stripped on Monday, 08 April.
