Lizzo to receive Humanitarian Award despite sexual harassment allegations from her former dancers.
Despite recent accusations from her former dancers, Lizzo is scheduled to receive the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award from the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) this week.
On September 21, the 2023 gala will take place, during which the “Truth Hurts” singer will get recognition for her philanthropic efforts and dedication to social justice.
Three former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, sued Lizzo, her production firm Big Grrrl Big Touring, and her dance captain Shirlene Quigley on the grounds that the singer had harassed them sexually and criticized their weight.
Lizzo is charged in the lawsuit, which Variety was able to receive, with coercing Davis into touching a nude dancer in a bar in Amsterdam in February 2023.

According to TMZ, Lizzo’s accusers alleged that they were essentially forced to go to the Paris topless show, but her attorney said this claim contradicts the photos as they are seen “happily cavorting backstage” with the topless entertainers.
Lizzo has expressed excitement for getting the Award from Quincy Jones, an American record producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer whose career spans 72 years.
She took to Instagram and wrote:
“Honored to be receiving the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award from @bma_coalition ! I can’t wait to celebrate at the Gala💖🥂
