Protests in Westbury
On Monday, 12 June, residents of Westbury have gathered on one of the busiest intersections on Ontdekkers Road to protest.
Residents say they have deployed teams of delegated people to go to various businesses and serve them with strongly worded letters pertaining to “Coloured” people.
Especially the youth who are not employed and given opportunities from 99% of businesses in the area although they are within the community.
At midday on Monday, the residents will be delivering a Memorandum to the Gauteng Government, including timelines demanding a response.
Residents of Westbury are tired of a lack of social inclusion, youth unemployment, crime and social injustice.
