Newborn Babies placed in boxes is unacceptable
A picture of newborn babies swaddled in blankets and placed in boxes at the Mahikeng Provincial Hospital is being investigated by the North West Department of Health.
The incident reportedly happened on Saturday 20 May. The North West Department of Health Spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane shares that the department was shocked to learn about newborn babies being placed in boxes instead of incubators at the Provincial Hospital neonatal section.

The Hammanskraal cholera outbreak
The Gauteng Department of Health confirms that 229 patients have been treated at the Jubilee District Hospital after exhibiting signs of cholera.
This after a cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal claimed the lives of 23 people. In the past few days, 23 other patients were transferred to hospitals around Tshwane.
The Active African Christian United Movement says it wants the court to hold the City of Tshwane accountable for the murder of a large number of people in Hammanskraal. This follows a similar announcement made by the EFF the day before.
