Zuma’s spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi leaves ATM to join the EFF
Mzwanele Manyi, a spokesperson for the Jacob Zuma Foundation, has joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
He announced on Twitter on Friday that he has joined the red berets after resigning from the African Transformation Movement (ATM) with immediate effect.
Manyi claimed in a statement to the ATM secretary that he thought the change would help his political career.
“The EFF has scale and demonstrable track record on accountability issues. Importantly, it is a listening party that genuinely engages the electorate before drawing up a manifesto,” he said.
“Whatever I disagree with the EFF on is overwhelmingly overshadowed by what I agree with them on.”
“I join the EFF as a rank and file member and will make my contribution in that capacity.” read the statement
Today I join the Revolution Movement, @EFFSouthAfrica as a card carrying member, to make a contribution in freeing South Africa from neo-colonialism; rampant corruption; and to rescue the country from the imminent failed state situation. Aykhale!! pic.twitter.com/aF7krfLsnk
