Before yesterday’s Podcast And Chill episode, there was growing speculation that sound engineer, Aya had been fired by Mac G.
The Podcast And Chill founder confirmed that he had indeed parted ways with Aya.
Aya had become a fan-favourite. Even though he was responsible for the sound, he often chimed in during conversations.
“At the end of the day, it is still a business and I think some people started forgetting why they were here,” said Mac G
“If you don’t do your job I’ll call you out.”
Apparently one of the episodes was late because Aya finished mixing the sound late.
“So I called him and asked why the sound was late and he said he had a family issue. Then I went on his WhatsApp status, and it said there is nothing nicer than chilling with your friends and listening to your album,” explains MacG.
This, according to Mac G was on Sunday before the episode aired.
“It doesn’t take more than an hour to do the podcast sound and you are done. You can listen to your album and do whatever you want to do.”
Because of this Aya was let go.
“I told him he knows the implications of what happens when the sound is late. I’ve reprimanded him and Malihant so many times to tell them guys – we can’t have the show late.”
Mash, who was also the videographer was let go by Mac G.
