President Cyril Ramaphosa will learn his fate today as all 400 members of the National Assembly are expected to vote whether or not he should face impeachment.
This despite the President’s firm decision to challenge the findings of the Section 89 panel report which found that he does have a case to answer to regarding the Phala Phala scandal.
Ramaphosa was set to address the country on the report’s findings on 01 December but pulled out saying he needs to review the report further.
However, after pressure from opposition parties calling for the President to resign, the National Assembly will on Tuesday, 13 December.
Meanwhile, ANC Presidential candidate, Zweli Mkhize called on members of the ANC, who hold a 230 seat majority to not just cast a vote to toe the line.
The Speaker of the National Assembly said voting will be done openly, with each member being called up in a roll call.
Members of Parliament will then need to confirm their votes which will be concluded later on Tuesday afternoon.
