Joining 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka is Durbanite and digital dynamite, Nqobile Khwezi.
Nqobile is a model, brand strategist, and businesswoman who is fast becoming a huge broadcasting talent.
She almost dropped out halfway through her degree but her parents convinced her to stay the course.
“In between classes, I would go to shoots, I liked making my own money. I eventually finished and now I want to do my postgrad.”
A friend of hers persuaded her to try modeling. Although it wasn’t what she expected, Nqobile learned a lot.
The one major thing she takes from modeling is learning to be true to who she is.
“The pageants I entered had a lot of personality to them. I enjoyed learning a lot about myself and stating my case to people. You had to know who you are.”
Speaking about pretty privilege, she says you have to know who you are as everyone will have their own opinions about you.
“You can’t go into every space trying to make sure everyone is going to understand who you are and how hard you have worked.
But you know yourself and you can’t let anybody’s opinion dictate where you are going and how you are shifting.
“There will be that one person who’ll say you are pretty and that’s how you go it and you just have to be okay.”
