On Sunday, 28 August the recently-elected ANC KwaZulu-Natal provincial leadership paid former president Jacob Zuma a visit at his Nkandla homestead.
The visit was to seek guidance and wisdom from the former statesman.
This follows a similar visit by the KZN leadership to former president Thabo Mbeki earlier this month.
KZN provincial chairperson Siboniso Duma, Bheki Mtolo, Nomagugu Simelane as well as Sipho Hlomuka and Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba were all present for the meeting.

Bheki Mtolo, the secretary-general of the ANC in KZN, stated before the meeting that the visit was in accordance with the party’s regeneration initiative and the goal of creating a compassionate and caring society.
‘Msholozi is a walking encyclopedia’
Siboniso Duma, who is the chairperson of the province spoke after engaging with Zuma and said the former president was able to advise them on a range of issues and gave them context with regard to the political dynamics of the country.
“It is well known that the former president is a wise man. We met him and he was excited to meet us as the provincial structure and there will be more meetings to come,”
“Msholozi is a walking encyclopedia. If you want to get deeper analysis of what transpired during the negotiations, he is among those who understood the vital components of achieving peace.”
“We spoke about a range of issues including among others, the issue of building the nation and the issue of land. He also advised us on how to unite and improve as a structure,”
“He was able to tell us what when it comes to the issue of peace between the ANC and IFP because he was at the centre of those negotiations,” said Duma.
