This past Saturday marked two years since the first positive COVID-19 case was identified in SA.
Remember this tweet from former Minister of Health, Dr. Zweli Mkhize: “The patient is a 38-year-old male who travelled to Italy with his wife. They were part of a group of 10 people and they arrived back in South Africa on March 1, 2020. #COVID19”
This was followed by a strict lockdown and tight restrictions.
Over the weekend professor, Salim Abdool Karim said that South Africa could do away with public covid-19 health measures such as wearing masks outdoors and public sanitizing while some restrictions will remain in place.
But, he says some restrictions will have to remain in place.
“Do you agree with Prof Abdool Karim? If so, which restrictions would you say must be dropped first? Which restrictions do you think MUST be kept at all costs?“
Check out some of responses on social media:
They should just open up everthing man especially the soccer stadiums but hand sanitizers and musks should still be a must. #thomasandskhumba
