Ayanda Thabethe is clapping back after Twitter users suggested she likes wearing wigs because she doesn’t like her natural hair.
The drama started when the TV presenter made a comment about Jay-Z’s hair. The billionaire rapper is in the headlines this week after being named the new face of Tiffany and Co.
His wife Beyoncé is also part of the famous jewellery brand’s campaign. She is the first black woman to wear the brand’s 128-carat Tiffany Diamond.
While many congratulated the power couple on their ‘About Love’ campaign, Jay-Z became a trending topic thanks to his hair.
The ‘Empire State of Mind’ rapper has been rocking freedom locs for years, but the hairdo still hasn’t grown on some people.
“I’m so bothered by Jay Z’s hair,” one Twitter user wrote.
The Tiffany and Co. photoshoot features a rarely-seen painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Twitter users suggested Jay-Z styled his dreadlocks the way he did to pay tribute to Basquiat.

Jay Z is such a huge fan of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Just realized now after seeing the painting that his hair style is the same as Basquiat's. Heard him talk about "most young kings get their heads cut off" piece of art, but never crossed my mind about the hair style. 🙌🏿 pic.twitter.com/tr1zK5BEga

Ayanda also shared her views on Jay-Z’s hairdo.
“But Jay-Z needs to cut his hair no ways …” she tweeted.

One Twitter user told the star she should worry about her own hair.
“First show us your own hair, you are constantly on wigs and criticizing people that wear their own, You don’t see the obvious problem here?” the woman wrote.
Ayanda made it clear that she is not ashamed of her hair and dismissed comments that she has thin hair. She pulled out receipts as well.
“This girl said my hair is thin … where hhay, Twitter will have you arguing with weird people. Wearing a weave doesn’t automatically mean you don’t like your own hair …”

Ayanda’s fans came to her defence. They urged her to ignore the “haters”.
“Kinda crazy all this because u say Jigga needs to cut his hair, bang it gets taken out of context yet u were referring to cleanliness and presentability. They choose violence and chaos,” one fan wrote.
