7 days before AKA was murdered in Durban, the late musician had recorded music with K.O.
The musical geniuses were working on a joint album together, K.O confirmed.
We can all agree that a collabo between the two is something the game needs.
“Exactly 7 days ago, AKA and myself were in the studio recording a precursor single to our long overdue collaborative tape. 7 days later I can’t believe I’m even here making this post.
“Rest in heaven dear friend, king, legend, icon, GOAT. Love you for life,” K.O tweeted.
There was always mutual respect between the Sete hitmaker and the Kiernan.
In September 2022 when K.O celebrated his single being number 1 on all digital platforms across Mzansi, AKA sang the Cashtime founder’s praises.
He described him as a master of re-invention.
“An absolute animal. A master of re-invention. My idol amongst idols. I’ve been chasing your level for over a decade now. Your stamina is breathtaking … congratulations.”
AKA’s memorial will take place on Friday, 17 February 2023 from 15:00 to 17:00
He will be laid to rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, 18 February.
