South African artist Pitori ‘Focalistic’ Maradona continues to make waves overseas.
His hit single, ‘Ke Star (Remix)’, has been named one of the ‘Best Songs of 2021 So Far’ by TIME magazine.
“On this song, two South African stars who have been turbocharging dancefloors across their country—the DJ and producer Vigro Deep and the rapper Focalistic—are joined by Nigerian Afrobeats king Davido for a bombastic intercontinental smash,” the publication wrote.
Other songs that feature on the list include Cardi B’s ‘Up’, Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Good 4 U’, and Lil Nas X‘s ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’.
Focalistic is thrilled to be featured.
“@TIME Magazine says #KeStarRemix is one of the best songs to come out in 2021 so far @davido @VigroDeep Danko! The only African song on the list. ASE TRAP TSE KE PINA TSA LEFATSHE,” the star tweeted.

Global superstar in the making
Focalistic’s music has been getting a lot of attention abroad. Alicia Keys is a big fan of the ‘Ke Star Remix’. She used it as background music for a video she shared on her YouTube channel.
Focalistic also featured on a Times Square billboard in New York.
The billboard was for a Spotify ad showcasing the “hottest African music”.
The Ga-Rankuwa rapper was one of a handful of South African musicians who took part in MTV Base and YouTube’s Africa Day Concert.
There is no stopping this global superstar in the making.
