For decades, many South Africans trusted Musica to provide them with music, movies, and games.
It was one of the leading entertainment store chains in the country.
But, sadly, all of this has come to an end.
The store has officially closed all its stores – more than 100 branches.
The company made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday.
The decision to close Musica was first announced in January when the Clicks Group explained how business had been suffering due to how digital has taken over.
It announced that people were now consuming music, movies, and video games online.
This led to a drop in sales.

Musica is closing down. CD’s are really becoming collectables. I guess that’s it one’s gotta give into online music platforms forever now… old school ways come to an end 😉🧐end of an era. #CDs

It’s hard to believe that @Musica___SA is closing down. It’s where I used to buy my video games, music CDs, movies and nerdy T-shirt’s. I’ll definitely miss it. Thanks for the memories. #musicaSA

For me the closing of Musica stores is tragic, yes online maybe the new wave but owning a physical CD, Vinyl or Cassette cannot be replaced by the digital era NEVER. That will always be the beautiful way of owning a collection of music period.
