A rematch between boxing heavyweights Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been confirmed.
This comes after Fury suffered his first-ever career loss at the hands of Usyk earlier this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
With his triumph over Fury, Usyk became the first unified heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a 1999 rematch in Las Vegas, USA.
The rematch will take place on 21 December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made by Saudi Arabia’s chair of its General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh.
Going into the highly-anticipated rematch, Fury looks to reclaim his title and record.
“I believe I won the fight, but I’m not going to sit here and cry and make excuses. I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them. What can you do? We both put on a good fight, the best we could do. People are siding with the country at war. But make no mistake, I won that fight, and I’ll be back. We’ve got a rematch clause,” he said to the media after his loss.
