Manchester City‘s Norwegian striker, Erling Haaland continues to break every record in sight. The 22-year-old has set a new goalscoring record in the history of the English Premier League – he scored his 35th league goal of the season last night in their 3-0 against Aston Villa.
The previous record was 34 goals in a single league season jointly shared by the legendary Allan Shearer and Andy Cole. It stood for over 30 years.
Speaking after the match Haaland said that it was a special moment.
“It feels unreal, to be honest. I wasn’t thinking of this kind of record when I came here. To break it means I have done something really special and I am really proud of this moment. I have to thank Pep, my teammates, and all the trainers for making it possible and training with me every day.”
