South African sports fans have for a very long time expressed how much they miss watching their favourite team play in the stadiums.
There have been calls across the board to reopen the stadiums.
A week ago, Premier Soccer League Chairman Irvin Khoza said fans will not be allowed at the stadium until the government gives full access to the supporters.
He also sighted the challenges of ensuring every supporter is full compliant with COVID 19 regulations, as well as the PSL’s responsibility to the sponsors, partners and suppliers.
There continues to be an outcry by many football lovers to get back to normality after watching soccer games around the world.
Thomas and Skhumba asked the Kaya 959 listeners what their views were about the reopening of the stadium across South Africa.

Who’s fooling who?
One listener made reference to the current state of adhering to COVID regulations, particularly in the township and rural areas. She recounted her experience in December and how she and the whole community just stopped wearing masks.
We should open, South Africans don’t fill up stadiums anyway
Another listener said it doesn’t make sense why the PSL is concerned about opening stadiums, knowing very well that even before COVID 19, the stadiums were empty.

EFF set to picket outside PSL, SAFA and Multichoice
In the KZN Siyabonga Rally the Economic Freedom Fighter made a strong call to the South African government to reopen the stadiums.
They urged them to open the stadium with immediate effect. In a recent press briefing, EFF Leader told the media that they are planing rolling pickets at PSL, SAFA and Multichoice offices until stadiums are open.
Malema said: “”On Thursday we are picketing at the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture to demand that it must suggest to the [Coronavirus Command] Council that the stadiums must be opened, even if it’s is to a limited amount, we don’t care.
“If there are no results with that picket we are going to picket SAFA, and picket PSL,” he said.
