With so many games on TV these days with packed stadiums many wonder when South Africans will enjoy the same luxury.
It felt really weird to watch packed football stadiums in the UK, packed concert in the US and across the first world, many countries have opened up their biggest venues for fans.
South Africa is now 508 days into lockdown, and the citizens are wondering if they’ll go back to level 4 or move to 2 or whether vaccination will continue being at a snail’s pace.
Thomas and Skhumba asked Kaya 959 when do you think we’ll start seeing packed stadiums and venues in SA? Do you have a year in mind?
One listener predicted that stadium will only start filling up around August/September in 2022. She predicted that this will be a time when most citezens would have completed being vaccinated.
No need for predictions, we are fine
A listener from Tembisa commented asking what country everyone else lives in, saying there’s no need for all of these predictions, that in Tembisa they just living a normal life.
5/6 years from now
There’s millions of South Africans who are apprehensive about vaccinating, and this has an indirect effect of what restrictions are put in place.
One listener commented that by virtue of people refusing to vaccinate, they are putting the country where it is now, and making it harder for us to have the same freedoms as other European countries who have packed stadiums.
Maybe in 20 years to come because I heard there’s 4th waves coming it will take years before we return to the stadiums. It’s shocking only in South Africa we have 4th waves we will reach 100 waves what about in other countries?.
