Nomzamo Mbatha revealed some heartbreaking news this week. The ‘Coming 2 America‘ actress is mourning the death of her mother.
“I don’t want to hear ‘it is the will of God…’ because my question then is how dare that will not consider me. I also don’t want to hear ‘you’re going to get through this…’ because it’s simple, ‘This’ is not the thing I wish to ‘get through’ …” she wrote on Instagram.
The 31-year-old says she got the tragic news about her mother’s passing shortly after her birthday.
“I have been reeling with grief since the day after my birthday… a full week living in a world where she does not exist in the physical… how can it be?”
The actress did not share any details about how her mother died. Despite her heartbreak, Nomzamo holds the lessons her mother taught her close to her heart.
“She made me feel safe in this world… Here’s to the woman who occupied the most tender part of my heart, who has loved me without limits since I was born, I will love and miss you for all my days. Everything hurts about losing you, everything… if I could kiss your face just one last time.”

Follow your compass
Before receiving the tragic news about her mother, Nomzamo shared an inspirational message to celebrate her birthday.
She told her Instagram followers the highs and lows in her life have helped shaped who she is today.
“To continue to follow my compass pointing to my truest North. Moving in life with the deep knowing that all the little-big ugly things, the peaks and the valleys …have and will always come together to make this beautiful life of mine. How unimaginable it used to all seem, yet it is only the beginning…”
