Police have arrested a 32-year old woman as the investigation into the disappearance of Joslin Smith continues.
The female suspect is expected to appear before the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 18 March.
This as a number of people have been taken in for questioning, as the search for the 6-year old from Diazville, Saldanha Bay continues.
Last week, four people including Joslin’s mother Kelly Smith and her boyfriend Jacquin Appollis made their second appearance in court, facing charges of human trafficking and kidnapping.
The State withdrew charges against Phumza Sigaqa, while Kelly, Appollis and Steveno Dumaizio van Rhyn abandoned bail and remain in custody until 13 May.
Kelly claimed Joslin went missing on 19 February whilst in the care of Appollis, but it would later be revealed that the mother of three allegedly sold the green-eyed girl for R20 000.
Joslin’s mother and Appollis are crystal meth users and it is suspected that they sold Joslin to settle their drug debt.
On 02 March, blood-stained clothing believed to be that of Joslin’s was found a few kilometres from the Diazville informal settlement that Joslin is said to have gone missing from.
There is still no trace of Joslin but community members and officials say the search for the little girl is still ongoing.
