Storms in Gauteng have caused more than 52 crashes and over 2000 power outages since Monday, 05 December.
This according to both Gauteng Traffic Department, who have called on motorists to be cautious when travelling during storms.
On Thursday, 08 December, overnight heavy rains caused flooding in several parts of Johannesburg, with Florida, Soweto and Roodepoort being some of the hardest hit areas.
Meanwhile, City Power says that the storms have wrecked havoc across Johannesburg causing outages and damaging infrastructure.
City Parks have also been busy clearing roads from trees that were uprooted as a result of the adverse weather patterns.
With a warning for more thunderstorms across Gauteng issued, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) cautions that more hail, heavy rains and severe thunderstorms is on the way on Monday, 12 December.
