Sibongile Mani who was found guilty of stealing NSFAS’s R14 million has been elected as treasurer of the Walter Sisulu University convocation committee.
Sibongile Mani, a student at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) who was found guilty of theft last year after using more than R800,000 of her NSFAS funds, has been chosen to serve as the WSU convocation committee’s treasurer.
She recently declared her candidacy for the post of treasurer on the convocation committee, which raises money for the school and the foundation, on social media.

On Sunday Mani’s campaign manager, Athenkosi Fani announced she had been elected as treasurer.
She wrote: “I believe that Sibongile Mani’s election is not just a victory for her, but a victory for all of us who believe in the power of democracy and the importance of independent leadership.”
“Her election is a symbol of hope and possibility for women’s emancipation and empowerment.Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your support and confidence in Sibongile Mani.”
“I know she will work tirelessly to ensure that she fulfills her promises to you and represents you with honor, integrity, and dedication.” said Fani
