Joslin Smith’s biological father Jose Emke, is calling on police to question the mother of his child, Kelly Smith and her boyfriend again, saying he believes they are hiding something.
Six-year old Joslin was left in the care of Appollis on Monday, 19 February because she was reportedly feeling sick and her mother had to go to work.
When her mother, Kelly Smith returned from to their home in an informal settlement in Diazville, Saldanha Bay, the boyfriend was not there and nor was little Joslin.
Kelly called her boyfriend who could not account for Joslin’s whereabouts.
However, since the news of missing Joslin broke, Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie has been on the ground with community search teams, and interviewed Kelly who admitted to being a Tik (crystal meth) user.
Gayton shared an update on Joslin on Thursday, 29 February and all leads so far have been dead ends.
In an interview with eNCA on Thursday, Joslin’s biological father called for the arrest of Kelly and her boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis.
“I’m very angry. I expected Kelly to call me to tell me that my daughter was missing but she didn’t even do that.
I don’t believe the stories they told police because there are a lot of different stories. I do believe that their drug use had something to do with my daughter’s disappearance.
With drug dealers, they can do anything, they can even hurt my child. I want Kelly and her boyfriend to be arrested, they must tell police the truth.”

Joslin’s biological father last saw his little girl in November 2023, before he moved to the Northern Cape for work.
Police have scaled down the search for Joslin Smith owing to a lack of resources, however McKenzie says community members vow to not stop ssearching for the little green-eyed girl until she is found.
