The 4th suspect in the case of missing Joslin Smith, Lorentia Lombard has abandoned bail after appearing at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court in Saldanha Bay on Monday, 25 March.
Lombard, who was arrested on 17 March made her first appearance in court last week Monday, 18 March.
The 32-year old has been charged with human trafficking and kidnapping and will join three others accused of allegedly selling the 6-year old back in court on 13 May.
Joslin’s mother, Kelly Smith and boyfriend Jacquin Appollis are amongst the other co-accused.
Kelly claimed Joslin went missing on 19 February whilst in the care of Appollis, but it would later be revealed that the mother of three allegedly sold the green-eyed girl for R20 000.
Joslin’s mother and Appollis are crystal meth users and it is suspected that they sold Joslin to settle their drug debt.
On 02 March, blood-stained clothing believed to be that of Joslin’s was found a few kilometres from the Diazville informal settlement that Joslin is said to have gone missing from.
There is still no trace of Joslin but community members and officials say the search for the little girl is still ongoing.
