“A legacy led by love.”
The family of Anele “Nellie” Tembe have dedicated a library in her honour, almost 3-years since her untimely death.
Anele has been remembered as an exemplary student who loved school, and the library has been opened at her former KwaZulu-Natal high school, Durban Girl College.
After her tragic passing in April 2021, the Tembe family have been looking for a fitting gesture to keep her memory alive, and the opening of the library was the perfect tribute.

Anele, who was just 22-years old when she died, was engaged to slain rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes at the time.
It was alleged that the couple had a fight prior, and a distraught Anele jumped to her death.
Her family however, are adamant that AKA was involved in her death, slamming the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for claiming there was no evidence to prosecute him.
The family claim that the NPA ignored key evidence including that AKA cleaned blood stains in the room. They say there were no fingerprints found on the balcony and that Anele was alive for 20-minutes before she succumbed to in injuries from the fall.
However, Anele’s family says during this time AKA was not with Anele on the ground, comforting her or giving her CPR, instead he was drinking and partying with his friends.
AKA was gunned down in an apparent hit outside a restaurant on Florida Road, in Durban on 10 February 2023, and his killers have not been arrested yet.
