“Things started to sneak their way into my music” – Usher says Amapiano influenced his creativity.
Usher Raymond has joined the list of international artists that have given praise to Amapiano, a home-grown genre that is slowly taking the world by storm.
Usher has also spent some time with a number of South African artist and had a full experience of the genre during the global citizen concert.
He recently put a smile on a lot of South African’s faces when he was heard discussing how Amapiano has influenced his musical inventiveness in an online interview.
He shared how his music was heavily influenced by both Amapino and Afrobeats.
“…Coming to our original home, the Motherland. And all of those things started to sneak their way into my music. ”
“Whether it was the algorithms of the songs or the rhythm and beat of what was going on with Amapiano and Afro beats. All of those things began to instigate my creativity,” he said

Usher to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show
Earlier this month Usher was confirmed as the featured performer for the Super Bowl halftime performance in 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
He shared a promo video using the iconic Confession video, where he is seen speaking to himself in the future.
