A public feud broke out on Saturday between ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula and SACP leader Solly Mapaila regarding Mapaila’s criticism of the ANC-led government of national unity.
During an interview on Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh’s SMWX podcast, Mapaila accused ANC leaders of betraying their principles and predicted that history would not look kindly upon them.
“What we see today is the bringing back of racism through the back door. Through the collaboration of this deal, that is called the government of national unity.
“This is not the government of national unity, it is the ANC and DA deal.
‘That is why I thanked Hellen Zille for telling the truth in one of my public addresses. We learned more from what she was saying than what our own comrades were telling us.
In response, Mbalula stated that Mapaila should have raised this issue through the appropriate channels.
The Siz The World team discussed both sides of the argument, and listeners chimed in with their thoughts.
